The Santa
Maria Magdalena de Pazzis Cemetery is a colonial- era cemetery which lies
inside of Old San Juan. There you can find many of Puerto Rico’s prominent
residents. Many politicians and artists are buried here. It lies outside the
walls of Fort San Felipe del Morro. The cemetery was originally placed here
because it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, this symbolized the spirit’s journey
to cross over to the afterlife.
